One of the most important things in life to keep in mind is that the only way to truly LOVE someone is to use a perfect LOVE not based on feelings or emotions.  Where do we find that kind of LOVE?

All of us have experienced insincere and imperfect love whether we received it or gave it.  It is always easy to LOVE the lovely or those that please us.  It is also easy to be LOVED by those who make no demands on our time or who do not invade our space or inconvenience us.  In fact it is very easy to LOVE when our lives are not complicated by those kinds of relationships.

But real life is not like that!  LOVE costs involvement and commitment.  How do we sincerely LOVE others that we can see and with whom we interact?  And how then do we LOVE a God whom we cannot see and must believe in order to obey His command to LOVE Him and others?

The fact is that GOD ENABLES & EMPOWERS US TO LOVE.  “We love Him because He first loved us.”  1 John 4:19   NKJV  Then GOD EXPECTS US TO ACT LIKE HIM TOWARD EACH OTHER BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE

"You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' 44 I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, 45 for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best — the sun to warm and the rain to nourish — to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. 46 If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. 47 If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.

48 "In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.  Matt 5:43-48    (THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Child of God, let me emphasize this again… LOVE costs involvement and commitment.  Are you Involved with and Committed to God?   Are you Involved and Committed with the people of God?
